Description
This bell appears to be one of a set of latten bells, for horses, which were split up and may have subsequently been used as a hand bell. It was made by Robert Wells of Aldbourne, Wiltshire, in the late eighteenth century and his name is cast in relief on the inside of the bell. The number 16 is engraved on the top of the bell, denoting its position in the set.
