- Object number56/32
- DescriptionThis chimney crane was used to hang pots over a fire. It is a metal frame which was attached to the wall next to the fire; a hinge allowed the pot to be swung over the fire or away from it. This allowed the cook to better regulate the temperature of the pot, and helped them to avoid burns.
