Description
This hoe is missing its handle. The hoe blade was made by John Farrier, the blacksmith at the old forge at Three Mile Cross. It belonged to the donor's grandfather and was used regularly by his father.

MERL 'Catalogue index' card – 'This tool is 11 inches long and has no handle. The blade is 4½ inches wide and 2 inches deep. Three holes in the handle socket show where the wooden handle was originally attached. // The hoe blade was made in an old forge at Three Mile Cross by John Farrier, the blacksmith. It belonged to Mr. Cook’s grand-father and was used regularly by his father.'
