    Washing dolly used with a wooden washing tub. Probably made in Lancashire in the mid-19th C.,used in Llangollen, Wales.
    This washing dolly is made of wood and has five legs, and would have been used with a wooden washing tub. It was probably made in Lancashire in the mid-nineteenth century, and was used by the donor's aunt in her house in Llangollen, Wales. The donor recalls it being used to wash blankets and clothes when she was a girl in the 1880s.

    MERL 'Catalogue index' card – ‘This dolly is made of wood and has five legs. It measures 36 inches in height and the top bar for the hands measures 15 inches across. The dolly was probably made in Lancashire, and was used by the owner’s Aunt in her household in Llangollen in Wales.’
