Description
Hop tokens were given to pickers as their baskets were measured and emptied. Payment was made at the end of each week according to the number of tokens each picker possessed. This circular lead hop token has a diameter of 0.6 inches. It is stamped 'T.D.' and originally came from Ewhurst, East Sussex. It was also previously part of the collections at the Curtis Museum, in Alton.
