Description
This scratch print is one of a collection of twelve, created by artist Kate Genever, and commissioned by The Museum of English Rural Life. These twelve prints featured in The Museum of Contemporary Farming Exhibition, April 2018. To the left of the frame is a black metal box, with a black cover sheet. On top of this is a plastic jug, with a plastic feeding bottle with a black teat inside. There is a wooden ladder in the centre of the frame, behind which is a smaller metal ladder with a beige item of clothing hung on it. At the base of these ladders is a green plastic bucket, and a grey metal bucket. Towards the left side of the frame is a blue handled spade, a wooden broom, a wooden stick, and a red handled spade.

Blog, Kate Genever, 'Drawn From the Field' [27th April 2018] – 'Drawings Installed at Musuem of English Rural Life // The MERL have accessioned my 12 "You complete me" drawings this week and are currently displaying them until June 10th as part of the Museum of Contemporary Farming exhibition. Here are a couple of photos of them in situ. Our aim was to extend the meaning in them and the objects they are surrounded by and of course bring some of the intangible back to the collected artefacts. As part of this evening gathering, which builds on the Walk Talk and Eat day at Croft Farm on Sunday, Georgina Barney and I will be sharing with 5 other artists ideas for inclusion into this conceptual impossible new collection. Here are some examples of my drawings that respond to my suggestion: Improvisation.'
