Description
This is one of 157 duplicate 'silver' medals awarded to Ransomes, Sims and Jefferies between 1839 and 1889, and came from the company's Cape Town branch when the branch was closed. At the time of accession, the original medals were still in the possession of Ransomes. The original medal showed on the one side various animals with the inscription 'WARWICKSHIRE AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY// HONORARY MEDAL' and on the other side a wreathe with various agricultural tools; this one-sided duplicate shows the wreathe. The original medal dated from Warwickshire Exhibition in 1862.
