- DescriptionThis trough, also called a sink or slopstore, was used in Groby, Leicestershire, where it was fitted in an outhouse dairy attached to a cottage. It is made of Swithland slate, a local material also used for roofing tiles and tombstones. It was thought by the donor that it was probably used for bacon salting.
