This pair of labourer’s boots belonged to the donor’s father, who lived in Reading, and probably also to the donor’s grandfather, who worked on a farm at Dunsden. Each boot consists of a wooden clog sole with a black leather upper and a metal toe cap. The sole has metal, horseshoe-like reinforcements at the front and the heel and is held in place with rivets.
