This is a hand driven seed blower used for cleaning small samples of seeds and made by Bryan Corcoran Ltd., of 31 Mark Lane, London, EC3. Bryan Corcoran Ltd. was a manufacturer of implements for mills and factories and was established in 1780. The company's badge, reading 'Brian Corcoran Ltd London', is fixed inside the hopper. This blower is advertised in their 1936 catalogue and was made in five sizes, ranging in capacity from 1/2 peck to 2 bushels. This one held 3/4 bushel and cost £8. It belonged to Mr Glover, a seed grower for Carters Tested Seeds Ltd, London, Suttons Seeds Ltd, Reading, Berkshire, and Hurst Gunson Cooper Taber Ltd, Witham, Essex, from approximately 1930-1970.

The fan consists of four metal flaps turned by a geared crank handle. A self acting feeding lip in the apperture at the bottom of the hopper is driven by a connecting arm and cam wheel situated on the fan's axle; the apperture itself can be adjusted by hand using a lever on the side of the machine. A maker's badge, 'Brian Corcoran Ltd London' is fixed inside the hopper. // Dimensions: Overall dimensions: 42cms x 24cms x 40cms (approx). // Associated information: This belonged to Mr Glover, seed grower for Carters and Suttons and Hursts in Essex, 1930-1970 approx.
