A clapper-type bird scarer, used for protecting crops from birds. It consists of three pieces of wood tied together with wire, which make a loud noised when waved. The bird scarer originally came from Stoke, Hampshire, is part of the Saint Mary Bourne Collection, from the village of Saint Mary Bourne in Hampshire.
