Description
This is a leather sheath or pouch, designed to be worn on a belt. It has four separate pockets for carrying knives or eating utensils. it is inscribed 'G.J.R.H. 1856' and with the name of the maker, 'SIMPSON 55 STRAND'. It belonged to a saddler and cobbler in Yattendon, Berkshire, who had worked there from 1901 until the early 1960s.
