A billhook is an edge tool used in hedging, coppice work and other woodland trades, and show great regional variety with each area having its own accepted pattern and shape. This billhook has a curved blade and a heavy wooden handle which appears to be a later addition. It was manufactured by Elwell, and is a 3901 Tenterden (Kent) pattern billhook. It belonged to the donor's father.
