This is a print from a lithograph of a painting, entitled 'The Oakley Ox', by H. Strafford, c.1837. It was lithographed by Thomas Fairland, printed by J. Graf of London, and published by S.W. Fores of Picadilly, London. The publisher dedicated the print to the Marquis of Tavistock, who owned the ox depicted. It is one of a collection of paintings and prints thought to date from the last quarter of the 18th century to c.1860.
