Beskrivning
This sewing basket, for storing sewing items, was probably made in France. It is made of white willow which was once varnished a red-brown colour. It is a round basket, with fine cross-fitched sides and lid, a turned-skeinwork base and two twisted handles, which are now damaged. It belonged to the donor’s grandmother, who used it circa 1880 or earlier.
