Beskrivning
These sheep shears were used on a farm on Brean Down, Somerset. Brean Down is a peninsula extending 1.5 miles into the Bristol Channel off the coast of Somerset. The shears are unusual in that they are made in two pieces and are joined at the centre of the handle to a strip of metal by four nuts. The blades leave the handles at a slight angle. One of the blades is stamped with a name that is partly illegible, but appears to include the name 'GEORGE', and the back of the other blade is stamped 'PATENT'.
