The introductory panel explains the model: 'In-can cooling model (scale 1"=1') showing tandem parlour with series in-can pipeline milking and circulation equipment (incorporating N.I.R.D. [National Institute for Research into Dairying] system for hot water sterilization)'. The scale is 1 inch to 1 foot. The model has a wooden case stamped 'IN CAN DAIRY MODEL 1' and on the reverse 'THE EDA // 2 SAVOY HILL // LONDON WC2'. The model was made by Edwin G. Crook for the East Midlands Electricity Board. It was acquired for display at Elvaston Castle Working Farm Museum in the 1980s.
