This is an embossing machine, for marking paper with a raised design. It is a made of iron with a steel and brass plated stamp which reads 'Barham Court Housing Association Limited', and a lever for operation. It is painted black with gold decoration of flowers and foliage The Housing Association was maintained by the National Dairymen's Benevolent Institution (NDBI), an organisation which provided financial assistance to retired dairymen.

Painted black with gold-coloured floral and leaf decoration. Use in association with the ‘Barham Court Housing Association Ltd’, which was maintained by the NDBI. The NDBI provided financial assistance to individuals who worked in the diary trade (for a continuous period of seven years or more) and who had been required to retire due to age or ill health.
