Beskrivning
Oxshoes are nailed or glued to the ox's hooves to protect the hooves from wear and tear. Each foot requires two half-shoes. These shoes consists of a flattish plate with five nail holes on one side and a loop of metal on the other. The underside has been rubbed smooth. They were found by the donor in Pyrénées-Atlantiques in the south-west of France, while collecting grasses (the donor was formerly the head of the Grass Breeding Department at the Welsh Plant Breeding Station in Aberystwyth).
