This is a rectangular wooden egg box; it contains two 12-egg trays and hessian-covered support tray on top. Each tray is padded with wadding and has tape handles in order to lift them from the box. There is also an inscription on the lid: 'PATENTEES AND MANUFACTURERS// THE DAIRY OUTFIT CO. LTD.// KINGS CROSS, LONDON N1// AWARDED 9 FIRST PRIZES AND MEDALS// FOR SAFETY EGG BOXES'.
