Four small preserving jars used by the donor's mother in the 1920s for preserving fruit. They are made of green glass, with glass lids and metal screw rings. They were made by Kilner Brothers Ltd. and the jars are marked 'The 'Kilner' Jar'.

<DIV STYLE="text-align:Justify;font-family:Georgia;font-style:normal;font-weight:normal;font-size:16;color:#000000;"><P><SPAN><SPAN>?PRESERVING JARS, RUBBER RINGS AND STERILIZER <BR>This Sterilizer was used in the kitchen to clean jars and bottles. Inside the tinned container there is a stand, lid and a holder for a thermometer. It was manufactured by a fruit, vegetable and game-bottling appliance manufacturing company based in Reading. This sterilizer and some of the jars were last used in the 1920s by the donor’s mother before being donated. <BR>These jars were used to store jam and preserve fruit.
