Описание
This is a grain shovel made of beech and was used for turning over the grain after it had been threshed or flailed. The donor found it at Heron's Farm in Wheathampstead when he took it over in 1928 from Mr Woollath, the previous tenant. It is believed that, as Mr Woollath never bought anything new, it probably moved with him from his previous farm in Wheathampstead, Samuel's Farm, in 1890.

Архивная история
This shovel was found by the donor at Heron's Farm when he took over its tenancy in 1928. It is thought that the previous tenant, the late farmer Mr. Woollath, brought the shovel to Heron's Farm c.1890 from his previous farm, Samuel's Farm, in Wheathampstead. His family say that, as Mr. Woollath never bought anything new if he could get a second-hand article, then perhaps this shovel dates from much earlier than 1890., A second shovel like this was given by the donor to the museum at St. Albans.
