Описание
This is a postillion's jacket made for the Earl of Dudley. A postillion was the driver of a horse-drawn carriage who was mounted on one of the horses, rather than on the carriage. It is made of heavy blue serge material with numerous gilt buttons up the front with a crest on each. Near the top of each sleeve is the same crest with the words 'Comme je Fus' written on it. A tab at the back of the jacket reads 'E. Tautz and Sons, 385, Oxford Street, London W' with the number '2769' and 'The Earl of Dudley for Jack Gum'.
