This is an arm badge for the National Farmers' Union, which probably dates from the 1950s. It consists of a blue enamel badge showing a silver shield and 'NFU' in read. A two-piece leather strap fits through slots in either side of the badge, to allow it to be worn on the arm. The back of the badge is stamped 'No 12'. It would have been worn by an NFU representative at, for example, the Union's stand at an Agricultural Show. It was originally found in a box in a house in Eastbourne.
