Описание
This long handled farrier's file was used for filing horses' teeth – to reduce irregularities and to bring overgrown teeth to their proper function where they had prevented the horse from chewing and digesting its food properly. It could also be used for faking the age of a horse by altering the appearance of its incisor teeth. It belonged to the Goodey family who were horse dealers in Reading for many years.
