Описание
This is an 18 bore, muzzle loading, short barrel carbine musket made of wood and metal. It is inscribed with ‘Crown V. R.’, dating it to the reign of Queen Victoria (1837–1901). It was issued to a guard on a mail coach – the short barrel assists handling at close quarters.

It has a ram rod. Muzzle loaded 18-bore (approx 5/8"). Inscription: Crown & V.R. near trigger. // Dimensions: Length: 108.0 cm (barrel 26 1/2" = 675 mm) // Associated information: Short barrel = carbine musket. Issued to guard on a mail coach. Short barrel assists handling at close quarters. Strap on trigger guard replaces sling book in hole in trigger guard front. N.B.
