Описание
This is a scythe blade. It is believed to have been used for cutting lawn grass as well as for general farm use. It was used at Saint Johns Chapel, County Durham. It may be associated with the very long mowing scythes associated with the so-called 'West country mowers' in the area.

The last memories of them appear to date from the turn of the century. but some of the scythes were no doubt retained for use on meadows too steep for horse mowing.'
