[insert] (6.12.29) [end insert] // Situated close to the main Horsham road, about three miles north of Steyning and not far from the Fountain Inn, it was a picturesque landmark which attracted much attention from travellers by road. It had been there for several generations, and its disappearance will be very greatley regretted, particularly in view of the increasing scarcity of these old relics of past days' agricultural activities.', MERL note [on old backing mount] - Ashurst Windmill, Sussex.
