Eighteen thatching hooks, used in conjunction with hazel ‘sways’ (rods) to fix the thatch to the rafters. The older ones are made of iron with curved tips to the hook. The newer onse are made of steel with straight tips to the hook. They were given to the Museum by the Thatching Advisory Service.
