This is a specimen bottle basket made for the Museum in 1965–1966 by William Shelley of Salisbury, Wiltshire. It is fine-randed rectangular basket with straight sides, made of white willow. It has a foot, a skein handle, and two lids which are fastened with a hasp, noose and pegs. These baskets were used by doctors on their rounds for carrying sample bottles of specimens.
