Beschrijving
This is a rounder plane, also known as a pole shave. It was used for shaving the ends of ladder rungs, poles and rake handles. It consists of a rounded piece of wood, with a pair of handles and a blade set in the tapering round groove into which the pole was put. It was used by the donor, a carpenter and cabinet maker, at Kidlington, Oxfordshire.
