Goffering irons were for ironing ruffles in clothes. This one is made of wrought iron, with a wooden handle, and stands on a round turned base into which the letters 'C. F. Co' and the number '8' are inscribed. It was found in the Malt House in Blewbury, Oxfordshire, by the donor in 1938.

On the bottom of the base are inscribed the letters C. F. Co. and the number 8. The stem is curved and plain. The barrel measures 4.5 inches in length and 1.2 inches in diameter.
