This is a one pint measure for measuring corn. It is made of wood which has been steamed and bent into shape, with metal banding and vertical struts. It was used and deposited by Charles Midwinter & Son Ltd., corn merchants in Newbury, Berkshire.

Drum shaped, 1 pint measure. There is a metal rim around the top and the bottom and vertical strips of metal at the sides. There are several marks on the outside. " C.M.B. stands for Charles Middleton & Co where the measures came from. A mark - "T Long Inspector with his logo also on the side. This measures was used by C. Middleton & Son (Corn Merchants) many years ago. Brought to the museum by J.C. Rankin, District Officer for S. Berks, who saved it from being thrown away.
