Hop tokens were given to pickers as their baskets were measured and emptied. Payment was made at the end of each week according to the number of tokens each picker possessed. This hop token consists of a thin piece of circular metal 0.7 inches in diameter. It has the words 'W Cook' stamped on it, and it originally came from Hereford. It was also previously part of the collections at the Curtis Museum, in Alton.
