This origins of this grain shovel are unknown. It is carved from one solid piece of beechwood, and is well-made; the shoulders have been well finished with chamfered edges.

It is carved from one soild piece of beechwood, and consists of a wooden handle 23.6 inches in length. The top part of this handle has been hollowed out to form a semicircular hand grip, its top part being 4.2 inches in length. At the bottom of the handle the shovel widens to form the blade which is roughly rectangular, 10.5 inches wide at the shoulders and widening to 11.8 inches at the tip. From shoulder to tip it is 12.6 inches in height. The handle seems a little out of the vertical in relation to the blade. The shoulders have been well finished with a number of chamfered edges.'
