This pair of hames are from the harness of a cart horse. A hame is the rigid wooden frame of a horse's harness and would be attached to a padded leather collar. The harness was used on the Godman Estate in Horsham, West Sussex, and at Pepper Gate Farm in Lower Beeding, West Sussex.
