[nb-NO]Description[nb-NO]
This pair of ice skates probably date from c.1900. They were used in Devon, although the donor claims that skating was not a common sport, with only perhaps one year in fifteen having the required weather. They were made in Sheffield by Thomas Ibbotson + Co., whose name is marked on the blade. The blade is also marked '11 1/2'. They are made entirely of metal.
