Trade tokens were often issued in the late eighteenth century by merchants. They were used to trade during times of coin shortages but also for advertising purposes. This token was issued in Bungay in 1794. The token has 'Bungay halfpenny' on one side and an image of Justice with the text 'For change not fraud 1794' on reverse.
