This rule is made of wood with brass trim. The one arm is longer than the other and it has various scales marked on it. The object was used by tailor Alexander Kellman in Reading, Berkshire to draft prototype paper patterns. There is also an inscription on it: 'J. RABONE AND SONS // BIRMINGHAM // MADE IN ENGLAND'.

MERL Miscellaneous note- Georgia Charitou- 4 November 2014- The object belongs to the Kellman Collection. The items of the collection were used by the donor's father, Alexander Kellman, who was a tailor in Queens Road, Reading, Berkshire.
