This a spittoon made of brown and green glazed earthenware in a round dish like shape with a hole in the middle of the sloping centre and a flat base. It is decorated with 19 small shells around the rim and it was used at The George Inn, Vernham Dean, Hampshire for receiving spittle discharge.
