This is a stoneware jar and lid made by Price of Bristol, likely to have been used for storing food. Found by donor at his father's house in Swanage, Dorset on his death in 1960. The jar was accepted on the understanding that MERL be permitted to dispose of the jar to another museum at any time it should wish.
