A set of cut throat razors in a leather box. They were manufactured by Joseph Rodgers & Sons of North Street, Sheffield.

2 razors in box: good condition[cont'd]...inscription inside lid: 'Superior razors, manufactured by Joseph Rodgers & Sons, No. 6, Norfolk Street, Sheffield. Cutlers by Royal Appointment to Their Majesties & c. To distinguish the genuine manufacture be very careful to ascertain that each razor has their stamp upon the blade'. On blade of black-bodied razor is inscribed manufacturer's details plus 'India Steel' in large ornate lettering. The other razor has an indistinguishable inscription on the blade apart from 'Pridie...', thus suggesting that it is not made by Rodgers and therefore not part of this original set.
