MERL 'Catalogue index' card – 'Wooden lemon squeezers were made in several forms, but were always of close-grained hardwoods. These squeezers are of the nutcracker type, with a round hollow in each half to hold the lemon and a small channel running to one side to drain the juice away. The two halves are joined by a metal hinge. The wood is birch. // The squeezers measure 11 inches in length.', No Lavinia Smith No. recorded.
