[nb-NO]Physical description[nb-NO]
1 lantern frame: wrought iron; good conditionOne of the ribs has 2 hinged fastenings which can be hooked onto small projections on the next rib, and this allows the other ribs to stand out firmly. 3 of the ribs have small feet at the bottom so that the frame could stand, as well as hang. The purpose of the frame is obscure. It may have been used as it is simply to protect the bare candle, or it may have been covered with some material to form a proper lantern. The ribs run loose on the rings at the top and bottom and consequently the lantern folds up neatly.
