This is a small brass ladle with the letters 'AA' and a pattern stamped on the inside. It has a well worn edge which indicates it was probably used for scooping. Lavinia Smith acquired the ladle from Miss Lock of East Hendred.

MERL 'Catalogue index' card – 'Miss Smith obtained this ladle from a Miss Lock who lived in the neighbourhood of East Hendred. It is a small ladle of pleasing proportions made of brass and was presumably used for scooping as one edge is well worn. The letters AA surrounded by a pattern have been stamped on the inside, presumably by the manufacturer.
