This plate was used as decoration first at The Buller's Arms, Bude, North Cornwall and later at The Railway Hotel, Evercreech, Somerset. It was made c.1830, of pottery with a transfer design showing an octagonal red border and a 'Temperance' motif, including the inscription 'The Drunkard Shall Not Enter The Kingdom Of God'.
