This is a one gallon measure for measuring grain. It is made of steamed wood and has the Royal stamp of verification from Queen Victoria's reign, 'VR 360', dating it to between 1837 and 1901. It was used at the Malt House in Fair Oak, Hampshire, by the donor, his father and his grandfather.
