[nb-NO]Description[nb-NO]
Horseshoes are nailed or glued to the horse's hooves to protect the hooves from wear and tear. Nothing is known of the origin of this heavy horseshoe. The nail holes are not easily distinguishable but there are probably eight and there are no caulkins - protrusions at the toe and heel of the horseshoe which provide additional traction.
