This waggoner's jacket was probably worn with corduroy trousers or leggings. It is made of natural coloured drabbet (coarse linen) and is lined with pieces of sackcloth. It has three wooden buttons the front and two flap pockets. It was purchased from the original wearer by the donor.

MERL 'Catalogue index' card – 'This is a waggoner’s jacket, which was probably worn with corduroy trousers or leggings. It is made of natural coloured drabbet, lined with pieces of sackcloth. It is quite plain, but very strongly made. It has three wooden buttons down the front, and two flap pockets. The pocket flaps, seams at mid-sleeve and across the back, have a zig-zag line instead of a straight one. The jacket measures 25 inches from shoulder to hem.'
