This is a moulding plane of the 'rabbet' or 'rebate' type. It is a woodworking tool, and it was used by a wheelwright in Braishfield, Hampshire. The mitred blade is 1 inch wide, and the shavings are discharged through the side half way up the stock. It is inscribed 'Moseley & Son // New St. Covent Garden // London' and also stamped 'T. Lloyd' on the front.
